A THUG who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl on a train in Auchinleck has been put on the sex offenders register.

Callum Pollock repeatedly slapped the girl on the buttocks on a train journey more than two years ago.

The 21-year-old also carried out two violent attacks on his own mother nearly a year after the incident.

Pollock pleaded guilty at Ayr Sheriff Court to two violent physical assaults and one sexual offence.

He admitted sexually assaulting the girl on a train journey between Kilmarnock and Auchinleck on August 7, 2021.

In addition to slapping the girl on the buttocks, he also raised a clenched fist at her.

Pollock also pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing and uttering threatening remarks towards four people in Auchinleck on the same date – in an offence which was aggravated by prejudice relating to a person's disability.

Then, almost 11 months later, Pollock went on to assault his own mother in Aird Avenue, Auchinleck, by punching her on the body.

On the same date - July 6, 2022 - he also assaulted another female by striking her on the leg with a metal pole.

He attacked his mother for a second time on July 21 last year, this time seizing her by the body and punching and kicking her to her injury.

Pollock, now of Linden Avenue, Girvan, was placed on the sex offenders register as an interim measure when he appeared in court.

Sentence was deferred for background social work reports, with the time he will spend on the register to be decided at sentencing.
