This week's look through the Cumnock Chronicle files takes us back 10 years to October 2013.

Who can you spot in these photos?

Cumnock Chronicle: Transplant

Auchinleck’s John Welsh donated a kidney to save his daughter Lauren’s life. And the pair appeared at a special assembly in October 2013 to tell their moving story to Auchinleck Academy pupils. Sixth year pupil Lauren and her father urged everyone to fundraise for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation.

Cumnock Chronicle: Craft

A craft fayre in St John’s Church Hall, Cumnock was a big success in 2013. These stallholders offered a wide range of gift items and much more on sale.

Cumnock Chronicle: Brass

Musical Cumnock Academy pupils showcased their talents at a Gala Concert in Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall in 2013. The school’s brass band gave a strong performance and their steel pan orchestra entertained by playing ‘Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough!'

Cumnock Chronicle: Flower

The pre-school children of New Cumnock Early Childhood Centre made a visit to the Parish Church Flower Festival in 2013. The Rev Helen Cuthbert, ably assisted by Morag Ferrans, provided information about the various church organisations while the children admired the floral displays and memorabilia.

Cumnock Chronicle: Walkers

A TEAM of Auchinleck walkers handed over a cheque for a massive £3140 to the Ayrshire Hospice. The hardy hikers completed the gruelling Caledonian Challenge - walking 54 miles in just 18 hours over tough Highland terrain. Our picture shows Caron Donnelly, Christopher Stakim, John Donnelly, David Smith, Graeme Strawhorn - senior fundraising officer Ayrshire Hospice, Kevin Yancouskie, Elaine Yancouskie and Daniel Gemmell.

Cumnock Academy pupils showed off their medals from the Ayrshire Cross Country Championships, where the S2 Boys won Silver, and the S2 Girls and S3 Girls won Bronze.
