A Cumnock based racing club has announced the sad passing of one of its beloved members.

East Ayrshire Pedigree Whippet Racing Club, based at Cumnock's Woordroad Park, revealed to members that Stuart Ronney sadly passed away earlier this week.

The father-of-three had become a popular member of the club over the years, with many fellow members passing on their condolences.

In a statement on the Facebook page, the club said: "We have conveyed our heartfelt condolences to Laura and their three children, Gio, Murrin, and Mason, during this incredibly challenging time.

"Those of us fortunate enough to have known Stuart were touched by his wisdom, his unwavering calmness, and his wonderful sense of humour. Stuart had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went, and he was a true friend to all of us.

"Stuart shared our passion for our dogs and racing, and he dedicated tireless efforts to support our club, even in the face of his own health challenges. His enduring commitment and unwavering support will forever be remembered.

"In the coming days, we will provide details about Stuart's funeral arrangements and how we plan to honour his significant contributions to our club.
