Plans have been lodged with East Ayrshire Council to build a new home on vacant land near Mauchline.

The proposals, presented by Architectural Design Services, would see a new storey-and-a-half house and garage built at Crosshands.

A new access to the site would be created at the north west corner of the plot from the B744, as part of the plans.

A supporting statement to the plans adds: "The proposed house will be finished with a plain grey smooth tile to the roof, the walls will be finished mainly with a white wet cast with the front elevation incorporating a natural slate stone panel and grey cladding board. Windows and doors will be finished in pvcu anthracite.

"The privet hedge will be retained to the frontage cut back locally at the new site access to achieve suitable sight lines.

"The remaining boundaries will be stob and wire fencing reflecting existing boundary treatments. Driveways will be formed with local gravel.

"Foul drainage will be connected to a new septic/treatment plant with the oufall connected to an existing outfall pipe discharging to the Afton Water treatment works. Surface water will be collected and discharged to a local soakaway.

"The proposed new dwelling house will enhance and compliment the adjacent properties in design and scale. There will be no loss of amenity or privacy to the immediate house Aaron View visually."
