Drivers are being reminded of a road closure along the A70 this weekend.

As part of four full weekend road closures, the Burnock Bridge in Ochiltree will be fully closed for bridge maintenance work.

It's the third weekend of closures to take place on the road.

Resurfacing work will also be carried out during these planned closures.

There are set to be periods where the road is fully closed to allow further work to be carried out.

ARA is warning of weekend road closures between the hours of 8am and 5pm on Saturday, September 30 and October 1.

A final closure of the bridge will take place on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, during the same time.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the traffic closure order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the B7036 Barony Road, the C62 and the A76 from the Templeton roundabout to the Dettingen roundabout, with westbound vehicles following the same diversion in reverse.

ARA says that emergency services access will be via the same diversion route, and that access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians outwith the working zone will be maintained.
