Cocaine worth £20,000 has been receovered by police following a drugs raid at an Auchinleck property.

A 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with alleged drugs offences.

On Wednesday, August 30 as part of an intelligence-led operation, officers executed a search warrant at an address in Milne Avenue.

A quantity of cocaine worth an estimated street value of £20,000 was discovered within the property.

The man  and woman appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 31 and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Terry McEwan from Ayrshire Proactive CID said: “Drugs have no place in our communities and officers are working hard every day to gather intelligence in order to detect and disrupt this abhorrent activity.

“The public continues to play a vital role in assisting our investigations and anyone with information about those involved in drugs supply, should contact Police Scotland through 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
