A road closure is set to be in place in Sorn for two months for bridge repair work, according to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website.
Ayrshire Roads Alliance, which operates on behalf of East Ayrshire Concil, will undertake bridge maintenance work on the Old Bridge, just off Sorn Main Street.
Many locals have said that the bridge is in need of upgrade work, along with work needing to take place along Sorn Main Street.
Work will begin on the Old Bridge from 9am on Monday, September 18 and is set to last until 4pm on November 27.
A full closure is expected throughout this time period.
The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Emergency services access will be affected and access will be via diversion route only.
Access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians out-with the working zone will be maintained.
An alternative route will be signed via B743 to B713, onto U749 to end (Old Bridge) and vice versa.
