Their new premises in New Cumnock - Scotland's best - had been abandoned for over a decade before the family took it over.
Now, almost three years since they took it on, the family and business are thriving and thrilled at receiving this kind of recognition.
Mr Muir said: "It felt really good to win, great to receive some recognition for all the hard work we put into the business to ensure that we provide the best possible service that we can for all our clients.
"The winner is selected by a panel of judges who look at all aspects of the business, from online presence including website, Facebook and customer reviews.
"The funeral awards also look at public nominations, the PR team meet with potential finalists and the finalists must submit a portfolio and supporting statement."

He added: "A panel of industry specialists have the final decision on winners.
"This was a big surprise considering the parlour renovation was just recently completed and opened in April this year.
"A lot of planning and hard work went into the design, making the parlour what it is today, a modern, calming place to conduct a funeral service and meeting place for our clients."
