Dumfries House was the focus of a popular BBC programme at the weekend.

The Countryfile teamed pitched up at the stately home near Cumnock to highlight the work done at the estate.

Cumnock Chronicle:

Presenters Matt Baker and Charlotte Smith immersed themselves in all that Dumfries House had to offer.

They learned about the different programmes and courses that are available at the estate, as well as looking back at how it was saved from ruin by King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, with help from the Prince's Foundation.

Cumnock Chronicle:

The hour-long episode took the presenters around the estate to learn about livestock, wellbeing programmes and much more.

Afterwards, there was even time for both to join in on one of the estate's tea dances.

The tea dances are aimed at tackling isolation and loneliness among the older generation, with groups coming from right across Ayrshire to join in.

Countryfile's special Dumfries House episode is available to view on the BBC iPlayer.
