A prisoner caught with a toothbrush fashioned into a bladed shank has been given more jail time after being caught with the makeshift weapon in his cell.
Stewart McCulloch, 33, pleaded guilty to possessing an article with a bladed point without lawful authority when he appeared in court from custody this week.
The Crown's indictment states the offensive weapon, specified as a tootbrush with a razorblade attached was found in Cell C24 in Ayrshire's prison on October 1 2020 HMP Kilmarnock, Mauchline Road.
When he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week, McCulloch whose address was listed now listed as HMP Shotts, was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.
