A public consultation is taking place today ahead of proposed plans for a re-application for a wellness park near Auchinleck.

The controversial proposals were rejected by East Ayrshire councillors following a knife-edge vote earlier this year after concerns were raised about the environmental impact of the plans.

Developers National Pride UK have come forward with new plans for the site - which they say will be "the first true nature-based wellbeing destination in Europe", if permission is granted.

The public consultation is said to be part of the pre-application planning process.

It is taking place today (August 2) from 4pm until 7.30pm at the Boswell Centre in Auchinleck.

Exhibition boards outlining the development will be available to view at the consultation, and there will be the opportunity to provide feedback, with the development team available to answer any questions you might have.

Developers say that almost 400 jobs could be provided as part of the plans.

You can find more information about the plans on the Barony Wellness website.
