The owners of the soon-to-close Mossgiel Snug in Mauchline are looking at ways to utilise the space to benefit the community.

It was announced last week that the popular shop at The Cross in Mauchline will close its doors this Saturday (July 29) due to "rocketing" costs.

Despite the pending closure, the owners are looking to make the most of the shop space, as they still have a period of time left on the lease.

They're looking to help out by offering the space to anyone who is looking to start up a new business, use as a one-off pop-up event space, or anything else, to save the shop going to waste in the meantime.

Although the coffee shop is due to close, owner Bryce Cunningham said that the closure will not affect the popular Mossgiel Farm.

Bryce and the team are looking for anyone interested in utilising the shop space to get in touch.

A company representative said: "We announced last week that we're closing our wee Snug coffee shop in Mauchline.

"But we've still got a wee while left on the rent.

"So, we're thinking - instead of it laying empty, could it be a wee incubator site to help others, launching new and small businesses to use as a one-off 'pop-up' venue.

"We'd provide some help with marketing for your big day, leave the La Marzocco coffee machine, fridges and tables in there, then let you crack on with your BIG food idea.

"We've done this already too - with awesome peeps like Reggaelicious Food Truck bringing Caribbean food to Mauchline and beyond with some amazing feedback.

"There'd be a wee fee involved, but if you're interested - drop us an email to TheSnug@MossgielFarm.co.uk"
