A GIRL was taken to hospital after being treated for injuries following a crash involving a car in Mauchline at the weekend.

The 10-year-old was involved in the incident near the filling station on the A76 Cumnock Road in the town on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene, with some traffic being diverted while the young girl was treated at the scene.

Police said that nobody was arrested in connection with the incident.

Scottish Ambulance crews confirmed that a patient was taken to hopsital.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 14:38 on 15 July 2023 to attend an incident in Mauchline.

"We dispatched multiple resources to the scene and one patient was transported to University Hospital Crosshouse.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “We were made aware of a collision involving a car and a female pedestrian, 10, at a filling station on Cumnock Road in Mauchline around 2.45pm on Saturday, 15 July.

“The pedestrian was treated by the ambulance service at the scene.”
