Dumfries House's popular dog show event is due to return next month.

Battling it out to see who will be crowned top dog, owners will once again come from across Ayrshire and beyond to bring their pooches together.

This year's event will take place on Wednesday, August 16 from 10am until 1pm.

The annual show always aims to support a local charity, with Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue (ADDR) set to benefit this time around.

ADDR work to reunite owners with their missing pets using hi-tech equipment and a team of dedicated volunteers.

Entrants to this year's dog show are encouraged to register in advance at the estate’s Visitor Centre.

The popular annual event gives local pooches the opportunity to compete for a series of prizes and light-hearted titles including Best Sausage Catcher, Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Cutest Puppy and Best Rescue Dog.

Those under the age of 10 will also have the opportunity to show off their training skills in a bid to be crowned Best Young Handler.

Some of last year's winners included Bichon Frise Jaxon, shown by Skylar Collins, claiming the Best Veteran title, while Findlay, shown by Allison Harrigan, was named Best Condition Dog.

Advance registration will run from August 1-15, and will cost £2 per category, or £1 for the Doggy Dash and agility course.

On-the-day registration will be available at £3 per category.
