The price of a popular Auchinleck pub and restaurant has been reduced as it remains for sale.

The Boswell Arms was originally listed for sale last August, with an asking price of £410,000.

Well-known in the village and beyond, the famous spot on the corner of Coal Road and Main Street, is believed to be one of Auchinleck's oldest buildings.

The pub is frequented by many Talbot fans, and those who enjoy a good night in general.

Also included in the sale is the adjoining restaurant and three-bedroom owners house.

The price for the purchase has now been reduced to £395,000.

A home report valued the accompanying house at £110,000, with the sale being marketed by Christie & Co, Glasgow.

The distinctive turret of the building makes it one of the most recognisable landmarks in the area.

Rightmove's report on the building states: "As you enter the bar area of the Boswell Arms Inn you are immediately aware of the bright and modern decor throughout.

"The current owners have upgraded this area to a high standard and offers spacious and comfortable seating throughout to accommodate the varied customer base. Upstairs is the equally spacious restaurant with a total of 40 covers that benefits from a separate entrance.

"Overall both parts of this venue have been maintained to a very high standard."

It adds: "The owner's house is adjacent to the bar restaurant and offers three generous sized bedrooms with spacious living space.

"Along with the modern kitchen and bathroom it will provide any new owner with a comfortable home and their family.

"Centrally located in the thriving and growing town of Auchinleck the Boswell Arms Inn offers a great opportunity to acquire a long established bar/restaurant."
