A Cumnock dog charity has been supported thanks to a local optician.
Islay Dog Rescue was the beneficiary of Urquhart's Opticians' Community and Care fund.
The Ayrshire optician started the fund on the backdrop of the pandemic, when it was unable to go into schools and the local community to give something back.
Now, every second month chariities and local groups can win a share of £1,000.

Islay will benefit from the donation of £250 to go towards the daily running costs of the dog charity.
A representative for the opticians said: "We're delighted to have supported Islay Dog-Rescue with a donation from our Care and Community Fund.
"We were delighted to welcome them to our practice in Prestwick for a photo with our team member Chris Williams."
