A huge 40-mile diversion for a closure on a road between New Cumnock and Dalmellington has been delayed, according to Ayrshire Roads Alliance.
The 100-metre closure along the B741 was originally due to start on Monday, May 22.
However, a delay in the work beginning has meant that the closure will not take effect until Monday, June 19.
When it does come into effect, the road is set to be closed for over 14 weeks, until Friday, September 29.
An official diversion for the closure will see New Cumnock drivers head for Cumnock, Ochiltree, Drongan and then onto Dalmellington.
The route is same for drivers in the opposite direction.
Due to the nature of the improvements works, all access will be via diversion route.
More information about this closure can be found on the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website.
