Ayrshire Hospice's in-patient unit got a cute surprise as they were visited by a pet therapy group earlier this week.

The hospice's in-patient unit and associated ancillary functions are temporarily based at East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock.

Everyone was delighted to welcome Bunny Luv - Mobile Petting Zoo to brighten their day.

The garden was taken over by a cute gang of bunnies, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs.

Patients and staff took the chance to have a little cuddle and pat with the furry little visitors throughout the afternoon.

Gina, who owns Bunny Luv, visits with the animals to thank the hospice for the care they provided for her mother two years ago.

Bringing in her mobile petting zoo is a way for Gina and the family to show their appreciation to the hospice for the care and support given to her mum.

To make sure everyone was well-fed, Gina and her family also arranged for Flaming Indulgence to cook delicious pizzas for everyone to enjoy.

A hospice spokesperson said: "Thank you Gina and her family for treating our staff and patients to a lovely afternoon."
