A route that many people use to access Ayr Hospital will temporarily close later this month.
The B742 road, at its junction with the A70, will be closed for resurfacing work to be carried out.
Work is set to take place from 9am on Monday, May 22 until 5pm on Monday, May 29.
The road is expected to be closed between 8am and 5pm each day, with it being open outwith these times.
The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Emergency services' access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians outwith the working zone will be maintained.
An official alternative route is in place for drivers to continue along theA70 to the Holmston Roundabout, before heading along towardd the Bankfield Roundabout and then along the A713 towards Ayr Hospital and vice versa.
However, local drivers in Coylton will still be able to access the B742 road via Hole Road in the village.
