A Cumnock Tryst favourite will be returning to the town this weekend for a special show.

Soprano Karen Cargill will be making an eagerly-awaited return to East Ayrshire for a very special concert on Saturday, April 29.

It will take place at the Trinity Church on Ayr Road, where she is also set to be joined by fellow singers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Young Artists programme.

Following an extensive week-long residency at Drumlanrig Castle, their exciting collaboration culminates in this performance, featuring a specially curated programme which will also include Karen performing a solo repertoire.

On the concert platform, Karen has performed at some of the most distinguished venues in the musical world including the Washington’s Kennedy Center, New York’s Carnegie Hall and The Royal Opera House in London.

Her operatic work has lead to a variety of accolades including the 2002 Kathleen Ferrier Award, and even a Grammy nomination for Best Operatic Recording as part of the Metropolitan Opera.

The Cumnock Tryst is delighted to welcome Karen back to the grand surroundings of Trinity Church for this concert that has plenty for audiences to look forward to.
