A CELEBRATION event is being held in Cumnock to mark the coronation of King Charles III.

Being held at in the car park on the former Cumnock Academy site on Ayr Road, the 'Coronation Carnival' day will welcome royalists young and old to celebrate the historic day.

Almost 70 years on from the last royal coronation, the people of Cumnock are being invited along to share this day.

The event is being held on Sunday, May 7, the day after the King's coronation, so that people can watch the coronation and then join in on celebrations the next day.

It will be taking place from 1pm to 4pm, with stalls and entertainment available.

Charitable organisations can obtain a free stall place, and businesses can obtain a stall place for £20.

Armbands for entry can be purchased on the day for £2.
