ONLY a few tickets remain unsold for one of the most eagerly-awaited games of the season so far for East Ayrshire football fans.

Fierce rivals Cumnock and Glenafton will lock horns in the semi-final of the Scottish Junior Cup at Meadow Park in Irvine this Friday, April 14.

Both clubs have been allocated 950 tickets, with a limited number of tickets available for pay-at-the-gate spectators.

The capacity will be capped at around 2,000 fans.

Cumnock

Cumnock sold their last remaining tickets for the match yesterday (Sunday, April 9).

The Nock have not tasted Scottish Junior Cup glory since 1989, having appeared in their last final in 2008.

Cumnock fans have been advised that parking will be available at Moor Park, with entrance to the stadium via James Crescent.

They will go into the match on the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy at the weekend.

Glenafton

Six miles down the road in New Cumnock, The Glens will be selling their remaining tickets for the match tonight (April 10) at the Campbell Hall from 6-7pm.

For people who are unable to travel to New Cumnock to purchase tickets, Glenafton are also accepting payments via bank transfer and Paypal, and tickets can be collected on the evening of the game from a collection point outside the main entrance to Meadow Park.

Glenafton were last triumphant in this cup back in 2017, when Alan Cairns' thunderous strike saw off Auchinleck Talbot in the final.

Access to the stadium for Glens fans will be via Wilson Avenue.

The Glens have not played since a 2-1 defeat away at Hurlford on April 1.

The rearranged fixture against Auchinleck Talbot, due to take place last week, will now take place on Monday, May 1.

Gates will open at 6.30pm on the night.

The semi-final tie between the teams will kick off at 7.30pm.

The winner of this week's derby tie will face either Rutherglen Glencairn or Dundee side East Craigie in the final.
