Cumnock Community Council's (CCC) noticeboard has been targeted by vandals once more.

The board, filled with information to help out local people, has become a magnet for yobs to destroy in recent times.

This time, the information board next to Farmfoods on Townhead Street has had both of its panes of glass smashed and the information from within it ripped out - leaving it bare.

One member of the CCC said that this is the seventh time that the board has been abused in such a way.

It's believed the latest incident happened some time last week.

It's not a trend that's exclusive to Cumnock, as people in Catrine have also been calling out acts of vandalism around their village.

CCC's Press Officer Michael Mcpake, who shared the latest images online, has been fighting against vandalism in the town for some time.

Not only has Michael been calling out damage to the noticeboard, but he's also regularly making people aware of continued damage to panes of glass at Cumnock's bus station.

Speaking about the CCC's noticeboard damage, Michael wants those in the community to stand up against this kind of action.

He said: "This is just getting out of control.

"Seven times now the Community Council noticeboard has been trashed, this time I would be amazed if no one saw this happening, [or] heard something.

"Are people totally blind as to what is going on in front of them?

"This vandalism trend is way out of control, the board is there to try and help the community.

"I don't believe for one second that nobody saw or heard this taking place.

"Young or old, speak up and name vandals if you know who they are.

"I can definitely speak on behalf of the Community Council by saying we are totally shocked by this."
