Lochnorris Primary School's Supported Learning Class (SLC) have recently been working towards the Gold award of their Rights Respecting Schools journey.

In 2015, leaders from all 193 countries of the United Nations made the most ambitious plan that has ever been agreed - by teaching kids about the Global Goals, they will learn that a better world is possible.

Since then, the school has made progress, but there is still work to be done, and the goals are more important than ever.

Within their SLC, Lochnorris kids focused on three of the goals: zero poverty, no hunger and climate action.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities ranging from a litter pick in the playground, a battery recycle project and a beach clean at Prestwick to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

They learned how to appreciate the environment, making observations at they walked around the campus. The children were all keen to make small changes to save the planet.
