TWO Cumnock men have admitted carrying out an assault at a popular venue in the town.
Arron Muir, 26, of Walker Court, and 27-year-old Dalhanna Avenue resident Ian Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at the Cumnock Juniors Social Club on December 18, 2021 by punching him on the head.
Muir admitted assaulting a second man at the same venue on the same date, but Brown’s plea of not guilty to this charge was accepted by prosecutors.
Following the pair’s pleas at Ayr Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart deferred sentencing for social work reports and continued bail for both.
The accused, who were represented by defence solicitors Robert Logan and John Gallagher respectively, will return for sentencing at a later date.
