AN APPLICATION by Auchinleck Talbot to an East Ayrshire Council grant fund should be refused, according to authority officials.
The club applied to EAC for a grant of £950 towards the purchase and erection of a fixed scaffolding tower, to allow the club to film matches at Beechwood Park.
A report to go before EAC’s grants committee this week says the total cost of the project is £3,500. But the report also recommends refusal of the application – even though it says the project represents value for money.
The report’s author says: “It is recommend that this application be refused on the grounds that the grant is requested for capital works which is not covered by Community Grants.
“Should members be minded to approve this application it would be subject to completion of a full assessment as financial information is outstanding from the group.”
The grants committee meets today (Wednesday).
