Two people have been taken to hospital and a man has been charged after a crash near Auchinleck last night.

The incident happened close to the Templeton roundabout just before 8pm on Monday, March 6.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were all spotted at the scene, and the road was closed for more than two hours.

Two people, a 19-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, were taken to hospital as a result of the crash.

A 25-year-old man was also charged in connection with road traffic offences

Ambulance crews say that one of the men was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, while the other was taken to Ayr Hospital.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 19:49 on March 6, 2023 to attend a road traffic collision (RTC) on the A76 close to Auchinleck.

"Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene and two patients were transported to hospital – one to University Hospital Crosshouse and one to University Hospital Ayr.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Around 7.45pm on Monday, 6 March, 2023 officers were called to reports of a three vehicle crash on the A76 at the Templeton Roundabout, Auchinleck. 

"Two men, aged 19 and 45, were taken by ambulance to hospital. 

"The driver of one of the vehicles, a 25-year-old man, was charged in connection with road traffic offences. 

"The road full reopened around 10pm."
