A man was taken to hospital while another driver has been arrested for an incident on the A76 on Saturday morning.
The two-vehicle incident involved a car and a van close to Bargower between Mauchline and Kilmarnock.
Police attended the incident as the road was closed for a period of time.
The road was reopened as a 33-year-old male driver of the car was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.50am on Saturday, 4 March, to a report of a crash involving a car and a van on the A76 near Mauchline.
"Emergency services attended and the car driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
“The driver of the other vehicle has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 11.30am.”
