A heartbroken New Cumnock couple are hosting a fun-filled charity games night in memory of their loving daughter.

Scott McPike and Laura Ferrans' four month old daughter, Mia, sadly died last year.

During Mia's stay in hopsital, the pair were supported by the Ronald McDonald house in Glasgow.

As a way of saying thank you for all their support during this time, Laura and Scott are holding a charity games night at New Cumnock Bowling Club later this year, with the proceeds going towards the charity.

Scott said the idea has always been in their heads to do something to help Ronald McDonald House, because of the amazing support they gave to him and Laura.

He told the Chronicle: "It's always been in our heads to do something for Ronald McDonald.

"We knew it would take some time before we were ready to put ourselves in that position, but I think that we're now ready to do something like this for them.

"We've been wanting to raise money for them ever since we were in there."

Scott added: "The support they gave to us was something we're so grateful for. The fact we were two minutes away from the hospital and we could be closer to Mia, it really felt like a home.

"The team there do so much amazing work for everyone who's there."

The charity games night will take place on Sunday, May 7 at New Cumnock Bowling Club.

It will include fun games, quizzes, a raffle and much more.

Tickets cost £5, which includes a buffet on the night.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting Laura Ferrans on Facebook or by calling 07786286808.

Scott said that the support from the local community has also been invaluable during this time for him and Laura.

He's hoping that can continue to provide some great support for the charity.

Scott continued: "The support from round about us has been incredible throughout everything we've been through.

"We do really appreciate everything and we're hoping we can give it one last push.

"We're still looking for some prizes to be able to raffle. We'd be so thankful for any kind of support".
