A man has been seriously assaulted after an attack in Catrine on Saturday (February 4).
The incident happened at around 7.30pm on St Germain Street.
A 29-year-old man had just left a flat on the street when another man assaulted him.
The victim sustained a number of injuries to his face and body as a result and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
The suspect is described as white, of a heavy build and had a dark beard. He was wearing a beanie-style hat and a dark denim jacket.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information surrounding the incident.
Detective Constable Graham Cuthill, said: "The motive for the attack has yet to be established.
"From our enquiries, the suspect walked off after the attack towards Wood Street.
"We would ask anyone who was in the area, especially motorists with dash-cam footage, or anyone who has any information that may assist officers with their investigation, to contact police via 101.
"Please quote reference number 3272 of Saturday, 4 February 2023, when calling.
"Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
