Registration is now open for the 2023 New Cumnock Supersprint Triathlon and Junior Aquathlon.

Taking place on Sunday, August 27, the event will be hosted by New Cumnock Outdoor Swimming Pool.

The focal point for the main and junior events is New Cumnock Swimming Pool, Scotland’s only outdoor heated fresh water swimming pool.

Sanctioned by Triathlon Scotland, the event will give adult participants the opportunity to test their strength and resilience by undertaking a 400m swim in New Cumnock Swimming Pool followed by a 15km cycle and 3km run.

The lido-style facility was part of a £4 million refurbishment of buildings at the heart of New Cumnock undertaken by The Prince’s Foundation that included the adjacent town hall.

It welcomed 37,000 visitors from all over the world in its first full season following refurbishment in 2017.

Those aged 8-15 are invited to take part in the Junior Aquathon, which will challenge them to take on a 50m swim and a 1.5km run.

The entry fee is £35 per adult, and £15 per junior, and participants must register in advance.
