Locals got involved in a wonderful wreath-making workshop in Cumnock last week.

Members of the East Ayrshire Woodlands Project along with CVO East Ayrshire helped out and got hands-on at the workshop at the Barrhill Community Centre.

An East Ayrshire Woodlands Project spokesperson said: "Lovely day last Thursday at the weath making workshop at Barrhill Community Centre.

"Beautiful wreaths were created using willow for the base and lots of pine, spruce, conifer and laurel for the bulk of it.

"We did use some holly and juniper, but only in small amounts, as I think it's always good practice to use the greenery that is most abundant and faster growing and limit what we take from slower growing species or species that wild birds rely upon to feed themselves in the winter weather, such as the holly with her beautiful red berries."
