People in East Ayrshire have been experiencing issues with their water supplies, believed to be caused by the cold weather.

People in Cumnock have reported an interruption to their water supply.

The issue was first reported by Scottish Water yesterday (Sunday, December 11).

The team are currently investigating the cause of this issue and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.

On this issue, Scottish Water said: "While we investigate, please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low/intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water. 

"If you require additional support, please use this link to sign up as a Priority Services Customer.

"If you have experienced flooding due to this incident and need support, please call us on 0800 0778 778."

Residents in Drongan and Ochiltree had also been having issues with their water due to fault at the local water pumps.

Scottish Water now say that this issue has been resolved.

A spokesperson for the utility firm said: "Water supply is being restored but you may experience low/intermittent pressure issues, which could be due to an airlock in the pipes.
