Santa and Mrs Claus will be making a special appearance at Dumfries House this weekend.

Dumfries House will pay host to the special guest this Saturday (November 26), as they arrive on the estate by sleigh.

From 1pm, Cumnock Youth Musical group will be singing outside The Coach House Café while you wait for Santa to arrive.

The sleigh was generously organised by Cumnock and District Round Table and will set off from the front steps of Dumfries House at 1.30pm and will travel down to the Grotto, which sits adjacent to the Coach House Café.

Santa will be accompanied by Mrs Claus as well as head elf and her assistants Shannon Carrey and Alex Richmond.

Local families and visitors are encouraged to get into the festive spirit by lining the route of the procession and giving them a big Ayrshire welcome.

The Coach House Cafe will be open from 10am until 4pm serving up a delicious range of seasonal food and beverages, while the Visitor Centre will be open for those looking to get a head-start on their Christmas shopping.

Children will be able to visit Santa Claus in his very own Grotto, adjacent to The Coach House Café, on the weekends of November 26-27 and December 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18.

The experience includes face painting, and a postbox to post letters. Children receive a drink and Christmas shortbread, while adults can sample mulled wine, tea, coffee and mince pies. The cost is £8 per child and £6 per adult, while children under 2 go free.
