Catrine’s annual lantern festival, ‘Make Catrine Sparkle’, is returning for 2022.

The event, run by Catrine Community Council in collaboration with Catrine Community Action Plan Group, will be held within the village on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 4pm until around 9pm.

The community will be staging a lantern parade throughout the village, before returning to Mill Square for the Christmas Tree light switch-on and also Santa’s Grotto at the A.M. Brown Institute.

There will be a range of craft stalls which will include both outdoor stalls based in Mill Square and indoor stalls based within the A.M. Brown Institute, Institute Avenue.

Both venues provide stall holders with an excellent opportunity to sell their products.

It's sure to be a great day, and one that the village has missed over the past three years.

If you would be interested in booking a stall or adding your small business to the reserve list for future events, you can contact Catrine Community Council secretary, Tracy Smith on catrinecommunitycouncil@gmail.com.

A group spokesperson set out guidelines for the event.

They said: "We would ask that once vehicles are unloaded that they be moved from the limited car parking available to Mill Square and Mill Green.

"This will free up parking for those attending the event.

"Set-up is from 3pm on Sunday. If you arrive earlier than this time, tables/stalls may not be ready.

"All traders must ensure the Christmas Craft Bazaar manager/secretary has a copy of their up-to-date insurance policy.

"If for any reason you need to cancel your booking, please let the Christmas Craft Bazaar manager/secretary know as soon as possible to allow us to alter the table plan to fill from the reserve list."
