The Cumnock Tryst took 70 young people from Lochnorris Primary School to Crawick Multiverse this week as part of Scotland's Year of Stories 2022.
The pupils were there to kick-start their research into how we can all have an impact on our environment.
Over the next few weeks, they will be working with early years music specialist Naheed Cruickshank and the Tryst's artistic director, James MacMillan, writing songs and instrumental music which explores their response to the environment in which they live.
This will culminate in a very special performance of 'Compose the Environment' on Friday, December 16 at 11.15am, at Barony Hall.
Tickets can be purchased on The Cumnock Tryst website.
This event has been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund.
This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery Players.
