Today (November 17) is the last chance for shoppers to pick up bargain deals from two stores in the area.
Cumnock's Central Garage and New Cumnock's Premier store, with the help of online grocery delivery platform Snappy Shopper, launched an exciting promotion to celebrate the men's football World Cup.
This deal will allow local shoppers using the Snappy Shopper app to pick up selected products for prices ranging from 5-8p.
The promotion, available to new and existing customers, will see the following price reductions: Doritos 180g share bag 7p (normally £2.19); Pepsi Max/Coke Zero 2L 8p (normally £1.99); Cadbury Share Bar 6p (normally £1.25); Maynards Sports Mix 5p (normally £1); Club Biscuits six pack 6p (normally £1.25).
You must spend over £5 to be eligible.
The deal sees a return of the above products to their 1966 prices - to mark the year in which England won the World Cup.
A Snappy Shopper spokesperson said: "While Scotland are by no means nostalgic about England’s 1966 win, we can appreciate the low grocery prices back then, especially with the current cost-of-living crisis!"
The offers can be found in the '1966 deals' category on the Snappy Shopper app or website.
When sharing the news on the Central Garage Facebook page, one social media user jokingly asked if the petrol would be rolled back to 1966 prices.
To many people's disappointment, the store replied: "Unfortunately government isn’t bringing down fuel duties down to 1966 levels so we can’t bring that down."
Those wishing to take advantage of the promotion can download the Snappy Shopper app or visit the website and enter their postcode to view participating stores in their local area.
