History was made at Lorimer Park in Sanquhar on Saturday as a female referee took charge of a Nithsdale Wanderers Ladies for the first time.
Unfortunately for the home side, it was not to be a good luck charm as they were hammered 9-1 by their South Ayrshire visitors.
Ayr United Development squad ran out comfortable winners in the end, but Nithsdale Ladies captain Rachel Houston managed to bag a screamer with a stunning free kick.
Admission to the match was free to attend, and it was met with a healthy crowd in Sanquhar to support the team.
The team will look to bounce back from the defeat this weekend.
More information on the team and their fixtures can be found on the Nithsdale Wanderers Ladies F.C Facebook page.
