A MAYBOLE man who tried to kick and headbutt police has been given unpaid work.
David Milligan, 41 pleaded guilty to three charges of threatening and abusive behaviour and assaulting cops at Main Street, Ayr on December 17 last year.
The procurator fiscal depute said: “At 2.20am police witnesses attended to speak to a witness concerning welfare.
“ They heard a male voice inside.
“When police attempted get more details the accused became hostile and demanded to know why they were at the house, while shouting and swearing.
“He was warned regarding his conduct continued told police officers to f*** off . He was informed he was under arrest.”
The court heard Milligan then pulled his head back in an attempt to headbutt the officer but made no contact.
When he was put in handcuffs, he then attempted to kick one officer in the head.
Milligan, of Ladyland Road, Maybole, was given a community payback order with 12 months supervision and 120 hours of unpaid work.
