Cumnock's Visions Leisure Centre has announced that its pool will remain closed for the remainder of today and tomorrow, due to boiler issues.

The pool first closed on Sunday morning, after boiler issues over the Saturday night.

Swimming lessons and classes have been cancelled since, with the centre now confirming that the pool will remain closed until at least the end of the day tomorrow.

Staff had hoped that the issue would be fixed by yesterday and have been working around the clock to do so, with engineers trying to get the pool back in use.

The latest statement from the centre read: "We are sorry to inform you that the closure of the pool hall will have to continue through today and tomorrow.

"We are aware this is not an ideal situation however please be reassured we are working round the clock to get the pool back up and running as quick as we possibly can.

"We are still on the receiving end of information ourselves so we will do our best to keep you all in the loop.

"Thank your for your patience."

It apears there are no guarantees about when the pool will be back in use, which has lead to some concerns being raised about classes and lessons being missed.

One concerned person said: "My daughter has only had one lesson in September and is now owed three, going into winter and further potential boiler issues, how many more are we going to have?

"The old system of paying per block and ‘knocking off’ payment for missed lessons was more workable.

"Sorry, I know you are trying your best but the current payment system is not ideal."

Another added: "It doesn’t work- we were ‘owed’ lessons for the same thing.

"Unfortunately never happened and I ended up pulling my daughter out. You pay far more than what you get.

"I’m in no way saying this is the staffs fault - poor souls do their best under the circumstances but it definitely doesn’t work".

Visions have been contacted for comment on this matter.
