A FIVE star Edinburgh Fringe performance is on its way to the Ayrshire stage.
Thunderstruck by David Colvin comes to The Gaiety in Ayr following a critically acclaimed run at this year’s arts extravaganza.
The play is an award-winning production exploring the legacy and mythology of Gordan Duncan, a Pitlochry binman and bagpiper who changed Scottish music.
Gordon Duncan is famous within the Scottish music community for challenging the established tradition of Scottish music, re-imagining the bagpipe as a modern instrument.
Thunderstruck explores Duncan’s career, his influence on Scottish music, his struggles with alcoholism and his untimely death at a young age.
Performer David Colvin is most well known for his role in the original production of The National Theatre of Scotland’s Black Watch.
Thunderstruck is on at The Gaiety Theatre on Tuesday, September 20 at 8pm.
