RAD Hotel Group's owners are delighted after reopening their Cumnock venue following a major refurbishment.

The 1906 restaurant in the Royal Hotel on The Square has been spruced up with a new look, a new menu and a new head chef.

A 'mini makeover' has included a new colour scheme, switching up the seating, lights and the staff have even been given a new uniform.

RAD officially relaunched 1906 to the public on Monday, August 29, and they said response had been wonderful

One customer shared that “The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive, and the surroundings are lovely since the renovation – can’t wait to come back!”

RAD has been a staple venue in Ayrshire since 1999, with venues across the area.

The Royal Hotel in Cumnock was listed as 'For Sale' last year, but it was taken off shortly after as £200,000 of investment went into creating a new bar, which opened just before Christmas - safeguarding 26 jobs.

This latest upgrade has been done with the view of remaining as one of the top establishments in the area.

Owners Robert and Vivien Kyle said they knew that something had to change, and they believe these subtle alterations are the key.

They said: “We recognised that our customers needed something a little different in 1906.

"We have made small changes, but they have had a big impact on the overall feel of the place.

"There’s a much cosier atmosphere and that can be felt straight away, we’ve also introduced new offers and menu items that we think our customers will love.

"We are thrilled by the feedback on our refurbishments and are grateful for all the support we have received so far."
