Cumnock Action Plan's (CAP) opening of their Tower Street project next weekend has been delayed.
It was due to open on Saturday, August 27, after two months of hard work and after years of planning.
It has not been decided when the official opening will now take place.
The area will include a seating area, a flower bed area, a storage area and an activity area.
The CAP team has been aiming to create something on the vacant space for a number of years, with many forms of community engagement taking place over the last few months.
Work officially begain at the beginning of June, with the original concrete flooring having to be dug up and replaced.
There will also be a disabled ramp access to the park, making it accessible for everyone.
