Cumnock's Lugar Water bridge will close to pedestrians next week to undergo essential maintenance work.
The bridge, which connects the Barony Campus to the former Cumnock Academy, will close on Monday, August 8 at 8am.
Work will take place on the bridge until Thursday, August 11, with a full closure in place during this time.
The pathway was reformed and rebuilt from its previous state to be opened in time for the new school campus to begin operations last year.
Upgrade work meant the bridge was more than doubled in width and structural work increased the weight that the crossing could hold, to deal with the increased footfall for the new super school.
Now, further repair work is to be carried out, in time for pupils returning to school on Thursday, August 18.
