A woman allegedly set her dog on police – injuring two officers – before spitting and then shouting homophobic and anti-disabled insults to cops.

Anne Carson, 43, faces five charges including resisting arrest, assault to injury and threatening behaviour after an alleged incident at her home address in Peden Drive, Auchinleck on January 18 this year.

Ms Carson faces a charge of resisting arrest by struggling with officers on duty.

She faces a second assault charge after allegedly encouraging her dog to repeatedly bite a police constable.

The complaint states she also made threats of violence to the same copper and kicked him on his body – all to his injury.

She faces a third charge of assaulting a second police officer by spitting on him after encouraging her pet to repeatedly bite.

It’s alleged that Ms Carson assaulted and injured a third constable during the incident with the dog.

She faces a fifth charge of causing fear and alarm on Peden Drive, and during a journey in a police car to Kilmarnock police station.

Court papers state that Ms Carson repeatedly shouted and swore while adopting an aggressive demeanour.

The Crown alleges that she also uttered derogatory remarks, homophobic remarks and threats of violence in the course of the incident.

The complaint state that this charge is aggravated by both prejudice relating to disability and to sexual orientation.

The case was continued without plea when the matter called at Ayr Sheriff Court last week, and Ms Carson will return to the same court to face the allegation later in the month.
