East Ayrshire’s Provost, Jim Todd and many of his fellow East Ayrshire councillors attended the traditional Kirkin’ o’ the Council ceremony recently.
The Kirkin’ takes place in churches throughout East Ayrshire and visits to the Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic and other congregational establishments are organised in sequence.
The first Kirkin’ ceremony was held at Cumnock Congregational Church in 2003.
Provost Todd said: “I’m grateful to Reverend Jim McNaughtan who presided over the service and to the local congregation who made us feel so welcome.”
This year’s service was also attended by several senior East Ayrshire Council officials and community partners.
