Around 350 visitors, local residents and schoolchildren gathered for last week’s summer solstice celebrations at Crawick Multiverse.
They were treated to spectacular pre-dawn visual effects from a drone circling above one of the twin mounds that represent Andromeda and the Milky Way.
Some early birds arrived as early as 4am to enjoy the day.
Others came at 8.30am to explore the remarkable 55-acre environmental artwork near Sanquhar.
Sharon Glendinning, the Multiverse’s general manager, said: “There was a great buzz. People had travelled far and wide – from the very local to international visitors from America and India.
“We also had around 130 primary school children from the local Sanquhar and Kelloholm primary schools joining in the celebrations.
“It was a unique and cosmic experience that we would hope to repeat again next year.”
