A motorcyclist has been left with "serious injuries" after a crash near Tarbolton last night (June 15), police say.
The incident happened at around 5pm on the B730 road close to the village.
The driver of the car was unhurt, but according to police they are being reported to the procurator fiscal for alleged road traffic offences.
One eye witness claims to have seen an air ambulance in attendance, as the road was closed for a short while before being reopened.
While another passer-by described the crash as a "sore one".
A police spokesperson confirmed: "Police officers were called to a road crash involving a motorcycle and a car on a road close to the village of Tarbolton, Ayrshire at 5pm on Wednesday 15 June 2022.
"Emergency services were in attendance and the motorcyclist was conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.
"The driver of the car was unhurt and will be reported for road traffic offences."
