Mauchline Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) are running a mini art competition, for youngsters to get involved and show off what they love most about the town.

Mauchline CARS is a heritage led regeneration scheme for the town which will run until March 2025.

The scheme is funded by Historic Environment Scotland and East Ayrshire Council and will provide property owners, within the Mauchline Conservation Area, with the opportunity to apply for grant funding for building repairs, re-instatement of architectural detail and shop front improvements.

The aim of the scheme is to maximise and sustain the economic potential of Mauchline’s Culture and Heritage assets.

The new art competition will run until Monday, May 16, with a winner announced on Saturday, May 28.

Submissions should be A4 in size and the artist’s name and contact details clearly written on the back. Artwork can be posted to Mauchline CARS Office, 15 Earl Grey Street, Mauchline, or emailed to CARS@East-Ayrshire.gov.uk.

A CARS spokesperson said: “We are so excited to share with you our upcoming competition where we are inviting all the Mini Artists of Mauchline to share a piece of artwork depicting their favourite old building within our town.

“We recently teamed up with Mauchline Primary School for an in-house competition with the winner’s artwork being used in our marketing for the Holy Fair competitions.

See Amber’s winning drawing of Burns House Museum- this will also be used on our social media platforms and posters around the town. Well done Amber!

“As part of our activities for the Holy Fair we would love to see artwork showing your favourite old building within Mauchline from all of the Mini Artists joining us at the fair.”
