A SMALL team of hard working volunteers have been making the most of the good weather and have been busy at Dunaskin.

New display boards have been made up and fixed to the walls in the Doon Valley Railway museum as part of the preparations for reopening on Easter Monday.

Some of the volunteers were busy continuing to prepare the area for the narrow gauge track. The ground was compacted with a vibrating road roller to give a solid base for laying sleepers and some ballast.

Some of the other volunteers were busy in the loco shed getting on with some jobs.

Next week there is a five-day working week planned starting on Tuesday and running through to Saturday. There will be several volunteers onsite throughout the week working to get as much done as we can to get things ready for their first open day.

The team would absolutely love to see some new volunteers to help.

If you would like to get involved with any of the projects at the Doon Valley Railway, then why not consider becoming a volunteer with the Ayrshire Railway Preservation

Group?
